Values and Vision

Values

The staff and Board of David’s Harp:

  • VALUE the unique spirit of all individuals regardless of their mental illness or any other qualifying factor.
  • VALUE the dedicated volunteers and community organizations whose philanthropy helps us achieve our mission.
  • VALUE the role of family, residential care providers, mental health professionals and physicians who support and comprise the treatment plan for each of our members. We aim to complement their role by providing a service that contributes to a holistic continuum of care for our members.

Vision

David’s Harp soon celebrates its 39th birthday! As we reflect on our successes of the past three decades, we are energized to achieve new goals for expanded partnerships, program growth, and visibility in the coming years.

“Having spent much of my career advocating for services in support of people with severe mental illness, I am confident when I say that the program at David’s harp is among those that truly make a difference in people’s lives. David’s Harp is a gem among the many services and programs in the Portland area; it stands out as unique, essential, and that most important thing of all – providing joyful and kind human interaction. I truly believe that if all of us had a David’s Harp in our lives, the world would be a better place.”

– Derald Walker, PhD, CEO of Cascadia Behavioral Healthcare, Inc.
